Mercy Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a family-focused, state-of-the-art unit with leading-edge, critical care technology and one of the finest multidisciplinary critical care teams.
Caregivers in the ICU provide critical care for patients with life-threatening illnesses or injuries and have either sustained or are at risk of suffering the failure of one or more vital functions, systems or organs.
Patients in the ICU require rigorous care and monitoring to reverse their near-fatal conditions and temporarily support them while they recover.
Types of procedures on this unit include intubation, TTM, CRRT, bronchoscopy, ICP monitoring, organ donation and post-operative care.

00PM – 7:30AM, including rotating weekends and holidays.
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families.
• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
