The Echo Technologist performs various diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures, including 2-D, M-mode, and Doppler recordings, to provide accurate images for physician evaluation. They are responsible for patient safety, equipment maintenance, and documenting results within the electronic medical record.
Candidates must have 1-3 years of experience in echocardiography and hold an RDMS certification or be a graduate of an accredited sonography program. BCLS certification is required within seven days of employment, while RDCS or RCS certifications are preferred.
The Echo Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures, using independent judgment to obtain clear and accurate images for physician evaluation. This role is responsible for ensuring patient safety, comfort, and accurate identification prior to procedures. The Echo Technologist collaborates with healthcare teams to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging and reports to support effective patient care.
