The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for performing phlebotomy, processing specimens, and conducting limited laboratory testing. They also handle patient registration, order entry, and the transport of STAT specimens.
Candidates should be high school graduates, preferably with an associate degree and a phlebotomy certificate. One year of phlebotomy experience and familiarity with computer applications are preferred.
The primary responsibility of the Laboratory Assistant is the performance of phlebotomy, specimen processing, registration, and limited laboratory testing.
