Provide supervision, training, and daily living support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting. Responsibilities include administering medication, documenting progress in Therap, and ensuring the health and safety of residents.
Requires a High School Diploma or GED and a valid South Carolina Driver's License. While no prior experience is required due to paid training, one year of experience with developmental disabilities is preferred.
All new hires must complete 7 days of orientation (8:30 AM – 4:00 PM) prior to starting at a residential or day program site.
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides support, supervision, and training to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a Community Training Home (CTH). The DSP helps individuals achieve independence, safety, and personal development in accordance with agency values and procedures.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties -
This position is classified as Essential. In the event of emergencies, natural disasters, or other urgent circumstances, DSPs may be required to report to work to ensure the health and safety of individuals receiving services.
