The Physical Therapist directs, supervises, and evaluates physical therapy services for patients as prescribed by physicians. They may also supervise Physical Therapist Assistants and Aides within the facility.
The Physical Therapist (PT) is a licensed healthcare professional responsible for evaluating, directing, supervising, and providing physical therapy services to patients as prescribed by the attending physician. The PT develops individualized treatment plans, monitors patient progress, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to maximize rehabilitation outcomes. This position may also supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and rehabilitation aides.
Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and establish treatment goals. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Provide skilled physical therapy services to improve mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and functional independence. Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, families, and interdisciplinary team members. Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed. Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants and rehabilitation aides as appropriate. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with professional and regulatory standards. Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program. Current North Carolina Physical Therapist license (or eligibility). Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Skilled nursing or rehabilitation experience preferred, but not required.
