Job DetailsJob Location

  • Electra Memorial Hospital - Electra, TX 76360 Under the supervision of a physician, administers prescribed sleep studies, assists in the cleaning and maintenance of equipment and performs various office related tasks need within the respiratory department.

  • RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides polysomnography services under the direction of the medical director. Perform services related to sleep lab. Instruct, prepare, and reassure patient of procedure being performed. Transport patients to and from department in a safe manner. Communicate and treat patients in professional, honest, fair, and respectful manner at all times. Provide care appropriate for the patients served based on demonstrated knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Assess and interpret data on the patients’ status to identify patients’ requirements relative to their age-specific needs and provides care needed as stipulated in departmental policy. Maintain files and prepare documents and reports. Accurately record polysomnography procedures in the patient’s medical record. Prepare records and patient charges as directed. Assist with the maintenance of statistics and other information for department reporting requirements. File patient records. Assist in maintaining stock levels of supplies and required equipment. Assist in managing the storage, control, and issuance of supplies. Communicate with the Respiratory Director on ensuring that inventory is adequately stocked with supplies necessary for efficient operation. Perform minor and preventative maintenance on equipment. Perform the sterilization of equipment. Report equipment problems to the Respiratory Director.

  • QualificationsEDUCATION: Graduate of approved AMA polysomnography program required.
  • EXPERIENCE: One year experience as a registered polysomnographic technologist preferred.

Requirements

Requires graduation from an approved AMA polysomnography program and a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist certification. One year of experience is preferred.
