Job Description

UW Medical Center - Montlake is seeking an Experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our award-winning team.

  • Position highlights
  • We have 180 deliveries a month (as a quaternary care hospital)
  • 70% of our OB moms are high risk with medically complex co-morbidities cared for by our Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) team members
  • Our unit is comprised of 14 antepartum rooms, 9 LDR rooms, 6 critical care OB rooms, 2 ORs, 2 Recovery bays and 2 Triage Rooms
  • We staff to AWHONN standards

The L&D nurse in this role will support the UW Medical Center (UWMC) –Seattle Children's Hospital (SCH) Fetal Program, a strategic partnership dedicated to providing coordinated fetal care services. Responsibilities are performed across both UW Medical Center and Seattle Children's Hospital, requiring collaboration with clinical, operational, and administrative teams at each site to ensure seamless program delivery and patient experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Admit patients for scheduled fetal interventions, including fetal surgery.
  • Assist the multidisciplinary team during fetal interventions and fetal surgeries by providing intra-procedural nursing support.
  • Recover patients following fetal interventions and fetal surgeries, including monitoring maternal and fetal status and implementing post-anesthesia and post-procedure care.
  • Provide post-procedure nursing care, patient education, and discharge instructions in collaboration with the fetal intervention team.

  • Two or more years of labor and delivery nursing experience
  • Have/obtain a current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Washington or MSL
