Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for phlebotomy experience or completion of an accredited program. PBT (ASCP) or equivalent national certification is preferred, though on-the-job training is available.
Description Phlebotomist – Laboratory – Part-Time Benefit Eligible
What to expect as a Phlebotomist: Perform order entry, obtaining pertinent patient information and determine specimen collection requirements. Perform proper specimen collection by confirming patient ID, collect specimens in proper tubes utilizing venipuncture/capillary techniques and accurately label specimens to ensure accurate patient results. Process and handle specimens appropriately to maintain sample integrity. Perform receptionist and clerical duties. Handle patients of all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics. Communicate well, have excellent customer service, and strong team-building skills.
High School graduate or equivalent. Experience in phlebotomy or completion of an Accredited Phlebotomy Program with successful completion of experience practicum is desirable. On-the-job training available for the right candidate. PBT (ASCP) or equivalent National phlebotomy certification, preferred.
