The MRI Technologist II operates MRI equipment and collaborates with radiologists and staff to perform MRI exams. They ensure high-quality images are submitted and assist in patient care and education.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and a specialized diploma from an accredited Radiology program. They should also possess relevant certifications and the ability to handle confidential medical information.
High School Diploma/GED and Specialized Diploma Graduate of an accredited Radiology program. Ability to deal effectively and ethically with medical and confidential information relating to patients, families, physicians and nursing personnel. Ability to maintain a high degree of maturity and exercise individual judgment in working with patients, equipment, and personnel that are involved in MRI exams. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in all written and oral communications, including email. Skills in technical data interpretation. American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire RT - Registered Technologist Radiology - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire or MR - Magnetic Resonance Imaging ARRT - State of Pennsylvania within 1 Year or ARMRIT - Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist - American Registry of MRI Technologists within 1 Year
Knowledge of Insurance Benefit and Eligibility Websites. Knowledge of Medical Insurance Terminology. Physical Demands Lift and carry 40-50 lbs.
Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
