Performs phlebotomy across all age and acuity levels while ensuring accurate specimen identification and integrity. Responsible for specimen processing, reporting results to clients, and managing daily laboratory billing and clerical operations.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid state driver's license with a clean driving record. No prior experience is required, although one year of job-related phlebotomy experience is preferred.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT Performs phlebotomy on all age and acuity levels using established procedures and safety devices; ensure accurate specimen identification and integrity; responsible for assuring that all aliquoting and separation is done with precision and accuracy on a timely basis; must have an understanding of specimen requirements and be able to determine appropriateness of specimens received; responsible for reporting of patient results to the appropriate client by charting, telephone, fax, modem or computer; responsible for assuring accurate input of patient demographics and insurance information. Behavioral Criteria: Responsible for daily billing operations, responsible for sending specimens to and receiving results from reference laboratories, professionally answers phones, provides reception and general clerical duties for the laboratory; performs routine centrifuge maintenance and inventory of supplies, provides assistance and information to outreach locations; assists Section Head and other Laboratory staff as needed.
