• Summary: The Independent Living Facilitator (ILF) provides essential support, care, and companionship to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, supporting them to live independently. This role involves assisting with daily activities, household tasks, and community involvement, based on the specific needs and preferences of each participant. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities, supporting them in achieving greater independence and quality of life. Essential Functions*: Assist participants with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Monitor and support the health and well-being of participants, including medication administration and attending medical appointments. Help with meal preparation, grocery shopping, housekeeping, and laundry. *
• Assist with budgeting and paying bills. Encourage and facilitate participation in community activities, social events, and recreational pursuits. Provide or arrange for transportation to appointments, activities, and community outings as needed. Implement individualized support plans, including behavioral intervention strategies. Maintain accurate and timely records of support provided, including daily notes, incident reports, and financial logs. Participate in training sessions and workshops to maintain and enhance skills. Must maintain CPR/First Aid certification. *Must be able to perform essential functions of this position with or without accommodations. *
• General household work not related to the care of the Participant does not exceed 20% of the total weekly hours worked. The responsibilities of the ILF shall vary based upon the needs of the agency and the needs and preferences of the Participant(s) but shall not exceed the limitations of a personal attendant under wage order 15 of the California Code. For some positions, InAlliance works in line with In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS). (Some hours paid will be via IHSS, but still an employee of InAlliance.)QualificationsRequired Education and Experience These qualifications are guidelines, not hard and fast rules, so if you have 70% of the qualifications listed, we encourage you to apply. Additional eligibility requirements Must be able to verify employment eligibility under USCIS I-9 requirements After a conditional job offer has been made, a pre-employment screening will be required.
