The Mental Health Tech creates a safe and therapeutic environment for psychiatric patients by observing and recording pertinent information for the nursing team. Primary duties include crisis intervention, leading education groups, and assisting patients with activities of daily living.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, while a bachelor's degree and one year of psychiatric experience are preferred. Candidates should ideally have knowledge of behavior management, crisis management, and CPR training.
High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred. One-year experience working with a psychiatric patient population preferred. Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors, and CPR training preferred or ability to learn.
