The Clinical Nurse provides and coordinates competent, evidence-based care for patients with complex medical and cardiac conditions in a 27-bed unit. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, planning, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes.
Requires an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited program and an active RN license in Indiana or a Compact license. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is mandatory.

The registered professional nurse is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence-based care across the care continuum, including assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The Clinical Nurse participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes, and enhance operational efficiency. The nurse practices in accordance with the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.
Unit: Description – Progressive Care
IU Arnett’s Progressive Care Unit is a 27-bed non-surgical progressive care unit that includes IU Arnett’s Rapid Response Bed. The PCU team provides compassionate, high-quality care to patients with complex medical and cardiac conditions. The team also includes a Paramedic who assists with patient transport to and from procedures and diagnostic testing Monday through Friday.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license
