The Physician Assistant provides comprehensive outpatient medical care within the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation clinic. Responsibilities include conducting patient histories, performing physical exams, and developing individualized treatment plans to restore patient function.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Physician Assistant program with a current Louisiana PA license and NCCPA certification. BLS certification from the American Heart Association is also required.

The Physician Assistant (PA) provides comprehensive outpatient medical care within the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation clinic. Working under the supervision of a physician, the PA performs physical examinations, develops treatment plans, and supports patients across the continuum of care with a focus on restoring function and improving quality of life. What You’ll Do Clinical Practice Conduct patient histories and perform comprehensive physical exams Evaluate and manage conditions using lab results, imaging, and clinical findings Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians Order and perform diagnostic procedures as delegated Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed Provide patient education and counseling to support recovery and wellness Coordinate referrals to PT/OT and medical subspecialties as appropriate Document and communicate care plans and findings with referring providers Patient Care Coordination Support clinic flow and assist with patient follow-up and triage Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes Serve as a resource to nursing and clinic staff Additional Responsibilities Assist with preoperative evaluations and procedural support as needed Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical programs Contribute to research activities, when applicable Maintain licensure, certifications, and ongoing professional development What We’re Looking For Open to new graduates and experienced candidates Strong clinical judgment and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based outpatient environment Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning Schedule & Work Environment Monday – Friday outpatient clinic schedule No inpatient rounding or call requirements Opportunities to support additional clinic locations as needed Qualifications Education Graduate of an Accredited Physician Assistant Program (MS-PAS) Licensure & Certifications Current Louisiana PA License (or eligibility) NCCPA Certification BLS Certification (American Heart Association) Join Our Team At LCMC Health, we are committed to building a workforce that reflects the communities we serve.
