Provide comprehensive medical care, including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions in an emergency setting. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to manage patient care and document clinical findings accurately.
Requires an MD or DO degree, board certification in Emergency Medicine, and an active Pennsylvania medical license. A minimum of 5 years of Emergency Medicine experience and BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
Active Pennsylvania licensure Board certification AHA BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications Minimum 5-years Emergency Medicine experience or equivalent Job Responsibilities (Generalized): Provide comprehensive medical care to patients across a variety of clinical settings, including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions Conduct thorough patient histories, physical examinations, and clinical assessments Order, interpret, and review diagnostic testing including laboratory work, imaging, and other studies as appropriate Develop and implement individualized treatment and care plans based on patient needs and evidence-based practices Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions within scope of practice Manage ongoing patient care, including follow-up evaluations and coordination of treatment plans Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and quality of care Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and clinical findings accurately and in compliance with facility standards Respond to patient concerns and provide education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care Maintain compliance with facility policies, credentialing requirements, and applicable regulatory standards Adapt quickly to new clinical environments, workflows, and electronic medical record systems Stay current on medical advancements, clinical guidelines, and best practices through continuing medical education and professional development Skills: In-depth knowledge of specialty principles and practices, including diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams Technical proficiency in performing procedures (if applicable) Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to adapt to changing patent conditions Time management and organizational skills to manage a patient workload effectively
Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school Residency training program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Fellowship training in Emergency Medicine (may be preferred depending on the position) Licenses & Certifications: Board certification in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the AOA Active and unrestricted medical license in Pennsylvania Experience: While specific requirements may vary, most locum physician positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty
Travel: If you reside greater than 50 miles from the facility you are eligible for travel benefits. You will have your travel and lodging arranged by our travel department and paid for in full. Please note that this position is offered as an independent contractor (1099) role and does not include the typical benefits associated with a W-2 employment, such as health insurance, retirement contributions, or paid time off.
