The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs both imaging and non-imaging procedures utilizing radioactive tracers and is responsible for the safe handling of radioactive materials and operation of radiation detection equipment. This role also involves appropriate computer analysis to generate patient results and providing direct patient care, considering age and culture-related attributes.
Casual Position-Days-Weekends: Scope of work
The NMT performs both imaging and non-imaging procedures on patients and/or patient samples using radioactive tracers. The NMT is responsible for the safe and correct handling of radioactive materials, the care and operation of radiation detection equipment, knowledge of Nuclear Medicine procedures, the appropriate computer analysis to generate a patient result, and patient care. A NMT uses specific age and culture-related physical, intellectual psychosocial and developmental attributes in assessment planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
