The role involves conducting patient evaluations, diagnosing gastrointestinal disorders, and performing endoscopic procedures. The practitioner will develop treatment plans and collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure patient safety and continuity of care.
Candidates must hold an MD or DO degree and a valid medical license for the state of New York. Board certification in Gastroenterology is preferred along with experience in a clinical setting.
This contract position is on-site, providing a unique opportunity to deliver quality healthcare within our Medical Practice environment.
As a Locum Gastroenterologist, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to patients, addressing a variety of gastrointestinal disorders. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our mission of enhancing patient health and well-being, while also ensuring continuity of care during periods of staff absence.
Conduct thorough patient evaluations and medical histories Diagnose and treat gastrointestinal disorders Perform endoscopic procedures as necessary Develop and implement patient treatment plans Collaborate with nursing and healthcare staff to ensure patient safety Maintain accurate and timely medical records Educate patients and families on gastrointestinal health Participate in continuing education and professional development activities
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution Valid medical license to practice in the state of New York Board certification in Gastroenterology preferred Experience in a clinical setting is a plus Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment Commitment to patient-centered care Knowledge of electronic health record systems
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p, minimum 2 weeks per month
No call shifts required
Setting: Outpatient
Daily Volume: 12-15 general procedures or 6-8 advanced procedures, 8 patients
Must be board-certified
