What you’ll do

As a Speech Language Pathologist at The Pines at Placerville, you will

  • Evaluate residents to determine speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing therapy needs
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Work closely with physicians, nursing staff, families, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Educate residents and caregivers on aspiration prevention, communication strategies, and maintenance programs
  • Participate in care conferences, rehabilitation meetings, and utilization reviews
  • Maintain accurate and compliant documentation
  • Supervise Clinical Fellows (CFY) and students as applicable
  • Assist with staff education and restorative nursing training
  • Help residents maximize independence, safety, and quality of life

Qualifications

  • Current California Speech Language Pathologist License
  • New grads encouraged to apply
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or Doctorate preferred
  • CPR Certification if required by licensure
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation settings preferred
  • Familiarity with Net Health and Point Click Care is a plus
