Provide comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic gastroenterology care to patients in clinic and hospital settings. Collaborate with supervising physicians and clinical teams to ensure continuity of care and high-quality patient experiences.
Must be a graduate of an accredited PA or NP program with valid Wisconsin licensure and NCCPA, AANP, or ANCC certification. BLS and ACLS certifications are required, with a preference for 1-3 years of adult medicine experience.
Education Graduate of an accredited physician assistant or nurse practitioner program. Licensure/Certification Current and valid Wisconsin Physician Assistant license, or Wisconsin Registered Nurse license and Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber license. Current NCCPA certification, or AANP or ANCC certification. BLS & ACLS certification required. Experience Minimum of one- to three-years of practice experience in an adult medicine setting preferred. Competencies Required Knowledge Knowledge of medical diagnostic and therapeutic principles, practices, and techniques. Advanced clinical knowledge of the GI system, pharmaceuticals, and GI related diagnostic testing (lab and radiology). Knowledge of location, care, operation, and safety hazards of medical equipment, instruments, and procedures to administer effective, safe patient care. Knowledge of regulatory and licensing requirements, including documentation standards, coding, billing and appropriate use of medical terminology and abbreviations. Skills Possesses interpersonal, communication, and listening skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with patients, physicians, and all staff members. Proficient computer skills working in an Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Demonstrates professionalism and respect in all forms of communication and correspondence. Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision making to achieve organizational objectives. Abilities Exhibits professionalism and sound judgment in all matters as a member of leadership in the organization. Ability to practice integrity by showing an uncompromising adherence to strong moral and ethical principles and values. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of personnel, fiscal, and health information. Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment and cope with rapidly changing patient care needs.
