Provides high-quality patient-centered support in the ICU by performing clinical tasks and monitoring vital signs under RN supervision. Assists with patient mobility, activities of daily living, and maintains a safe care environment.
Requires 0-1 years of experience in a hospital or critical care setting and a BLS certification. Completion of a PCT, CNA, or Medical Assistant program is preferred.
The ICU Technician provides high-quality, patient-centered support within the Intensive Care Unit by performing delegated clinical and non-clinical tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). This role assists with the delivery of direct patient care, monitors vital signs and basic diagnostic data, and supports ICU operations to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient care environment. The ICU Technician contributes to improved patient outcomes by supporting the critical care team in meeting the unique needs of high-acuity patients.
Completion of a Patient Care Technician (PCT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or Medical Assistant program preferred 0-1 years of experience in a hospital or critical care setting required
Knowledge of basic patient care practices and terminology. Ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced ICU environment with a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in collecting and documenting vital signs and patient observations. Ability to respond appropriately to emergency and crisis situations. Effective communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and clinical staff. Understanding of infection prevention and patient safety practices. Basic computer and clinical documentation skills. Licenses and Certifications BCLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) or American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) BLS required CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant preferred INDCS
