The EKG Technician is responsible for performing electrocardiogram studies on patients and processing the results into the computer system. They must maintain equipment inventory and ensure a professional rapport with patients and medical staff.
Requires one year of related experience and the technical aptitude to interpret physician orders and operate EKG equipment. Candidates must be able to handle the physical demands of standing and walking for the majority of their shift.

Explain testing procedure to patient Transmit and process ECG from cart to computer system Maintain adequate inventory of supplies in order to operate in an efficient manner Perform requested study in a skillful and careful manner Maintain a good rapport with patients, staff, visitors
One (1) year of related experience required. Technical aptitude required to interpret physicians' orders, utilize Electrocardiograph, maintain equipment, etc. Work requires a high level of interpersonal skills to interact with patients and deal effectively with medical, nursing, technical and other staff members. Ability to learn the performance of Electrocardiograms on neonatal patients required. Work requires light typing ability to produce simple reports, letters, records, etc. Work requires standing and walking for prolonged periods of time (85% of work time) as well as ability to push equipment cart throughout the Hospital.

The salary range listed for exempt positions reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
