The RN in Med Surg is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to care for patients, maintaining accurate patient records, and communicating pertinent data to allied care providers. The role includes participating in staff meetings, adhering to safety policies, and representing the hospital in the community.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in nursing and experience in managing cardiac patients.
· Ability to read, write, and communicate in English · Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing · (RN) - Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts · (BLS) - Current Basic Life Support certification · CCHC Pharmacology Exam (pass prior to start date) · CCHC Basic Arrhythmia Exam (pass prior to start date) RN Residency & Transition (job code: 6004), must be completed within 3 months from start date · Med/Surg experience in an acute care facility within the last (2) two years · (Preferred) - Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) · (Preferred) - Experience in the management of cardiac patients · (Preferred) - ACLS, recent telemetry experience, Med/Surg. certification · (Preferred) – Chemotherapy/biotherapy certification · (Preferred) – Chemotherapy practicum
