As a Locum NP/PA in Cardiothoracic Surgery, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care while collaborating with a team of skilled surgeons and healthcare providers. Your expertise will contribute to patient assessments, treatment plans, and post-operative care, ensuring optimal outcomes for our patients.
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and evaluations Assist in the development and implementation of treatment plans Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure quality patient outcomes Monitor and document patient progress throughout treatment Educate patients and families on treatment options and care plans Participate in surgical procedures as directed by supervising physicians Stay current with best practices and advancements in cardiothoracic surgery
Associate degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Strong clinical skills in cardiothoracic surgery Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Experience in patient assessment and care planning Knowledge of relevant medical software and electronic health records Commitment to providing compassionate patient care
Schedule: 24-hour call shifts
Duties: Hospital rounding, surgery (elective and emergent), and assistance in clinic
Cases: Cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and CABG surgery
Removal of chest tubes, pulmonary artery catheters, epicardial wires, and intra-aortic balloon pumps, and vein and artery harvesting
Support Staff: Office supervisor
EMR: Meditech and eCW
Must be board-certified
