Perform comprehensive assessments, evaluations, and treatment planning for clients in mental health and substance abuse programs. Provide various forms of therapy and collaborate with treatment teams and community agencies to coordinate care.
Must hold a Master's degree in Human Services or a related field and possess a current Pennsylvania license (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT). Requires at least two years of experience in substance abuse or a related field.
Founded in 1970 as South Philadelphia Health Action and subsequently incorporated as Greater Philadelphia Health Action, GPHA is a non-profit healthcare organization with a commitment to provide compassionate and affordable healthcare services regardless of an individual’s ability to pay. Since 1970, GPHA has expanded to become one of the premier providers of primary and behavioral healthcare in the Greater Philadelphia area.
We are presently seeking full-time Clinical Therapists in our Behavioral Healthcare Division.
This position will perform a wide variety of tasks designed to effect the lasting rehabilitation of patients engaging in our mental health, substance abuse, and co-occurring programs. These tasks include, but are not limited to:
· Completion of initial and ongoing assessments, comprehensive evaluations and treatment planning for clients.
· Providing individual, marital, couple, family and group therapy for clients experiencing symptoms associated with DSM/ICD diagnoses, and/or clients experiencing concerns pertaining to stress management, self-esteem, aging, bullying, domestic violence, HIV, gender orientation, etc.
· Collaboration with members of client’s treatment team, family, and personnel of other community agencies actively involved with client to coordinate treatment efforts.
· Maintenance of accurate, comprehensive, and timely documentation of service activities, interaction with client, and client progress, as required by the state, county and GPHA, Inc.
· Participation in educational meetings and trainings related to alcohol abuse and mental illness treatment.
· Participation in quality assessment and improvement activities to develop and expand the efficiency and quality of Behavioral Healthcare Services.
Must have a Master’s degree in Human Services field or related field and two (2) years of experience in substance abuse or related field. Psychology and one year of counseling experience preferred. Must have a current license to practice in Pennsylvania as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Local candidates only please.
