Perform professional analytical procedures to execute and interpret laboratory results. Focus specifically on analyzing abnormal or atypical results to ensure patient outcomes.
Requires a Bachelor of Science degree and one year of supervised clinical laboratory experience. Must hold certification from the ASCP or IAC.
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Performing analytical procedures which regularly require a professional level of knowledge to execute, interpret, and/or analyze, especially those results which are abnormal or atypical.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:Bachelor of Science degree. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:One year of supervised clinical experience in an approved clinical laboratory. MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:Certification as a cytotechnologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or the International Association of Cytotechnologists (IAC).
