Perform general patient care including recording vital signs, reviewing medications, and preparing patients for healthcare providers. Maintain clinic efficiency by sterilizing instruments, stocking exam rooms, and collecting laboratory specimens.
Must be a graduate of an ABHES or CAAHEP accredited medical assisting program with a valid national certification (AAMA/CMA, RMA, or NCMA). Requires completion of a 40-hour Medication Aide course or a current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Performs general patient care following established clinic workflows. Performs general patient care following established clinic workflows. Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider by obtaining and recording vital signs, reviewing drug allergies and current medications, completing applicable screening questionnaires and documenting reason for visit. Collects and prepares ordered specimens for laboratory analysis. Prepares and provides ordered medications and/or vaccines to patients. Cleans and sterilizes instruments. Ensures patient exam rooms are stocked, clean, and orderly. Escalates non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns timely and appropriately. Ensures safety checklists and quality controls are completed as required and necessary action taken if indicated. Performs other duties within scope of role as assigned. Job Requirements
Graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP) Current/valid nationally recognized certification, registration or recognition for medical assistants (AAMA/CMA, RMA, NCMA) Successfully completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association #kearneyclinic2025
