The Patient Care Technician Float will be responsible for the examination and treatment of patients under the direct supervision of the provider. Duties include but not limited to the following: check in patients, obtain vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, pulse oximetry, temperature) medication reconciliation, patient medical history information, expediting patient flow, rooming patients, stocking clinic with supplies, navigating electronic health record system (EPIC), and performing other non-clinical duties as needed. This position requires daily travel to the various practices within the coverage area. Essential Duties:

Manages the coordination and flow of patients throughout the patients’ visit to create an exceptional patient experience.
Prepares the patient room for the exam. Follows proper sanitary procedures for cleaning the rooms between patients and ensures the room is stocked with necessary supplies.
Captures patient’s vital signs, past medical, social and family history, medication usage, preferred pharmacy and any additional missing information.
Assists the providers within the scope of training.
Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements including HIPAA/OSHA compliance.
Review the patient’s electronic medical chart to ensure that all required information is available prior to visit.
Enters vital signs and patient information in the electronic medical chart.
Assists with coverage of Patient Access areas, which may include checking in/out patients, answering telephone, faxing and other front desk duties.
