The Patient Care Assistant provides essential support in the OB & GYN unit, including bathing, positioning, and transporting patients. They are also responsible for performing EKGs and Glucometer POC tests under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
A high school diploma or GED is required, with CNA training and certification preferred. Candidates must hold or obtain BLS certification and a certificate in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
Overview Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation; responsible for directing, coordinating all nursing care based on established clinical nursing practices; collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
Education: Graduate of an School of Professional Nursing; must provide documented evidence to perform waived testing Experience: Must have 2 years of endoscopy experience or at least 5 years of RN nursing experience in various clinical settings including Surgical Services, Critical Care or Medical-Surgical Nursing. Licenses/Certificates: License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alabama. Current BLS certification. Current ACLS Certification required or obtained within 90 days of employment
