As a Locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon, you will play a crucial role in our team, focusing on complex surgical procedures and patient care within the cardiothoracic domain. You will work closely with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.
Perform cardiothoracic surgeries including procedures on the heart, lungs, and chest Conduct pre-operative evaluations and post-operative follow-ups Collaborate with other medical professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans Provide patient education regarding surgical procedures and recovery Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school Valid medical license to practice in the state of Texas Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery Experience in a clinical or surgical setting, preferably in cardiothoracic surgery Strong surgical skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Commitment to patient care and continuous professional development
Schedule: 24-hour call shifts, 7a-7a
Shifts available at multiple facilities
Patient Volume: 10-15 per day, 100 total per year
Duties: Primarily inpatient surgical coverage for ED and referred elective cases
Caseload: Full-scope CV surgery
Clinic EMR: Cerner McKesson Cardiology
Hospital EMR: Paragon
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
