The ER Technician provides patient care and performs clinical procedures under the supervision of nurses and providers. Key duties include monitoring patients, responding to emergencies, and maintaining department equipment and supplies.

Job Summary

  • The Emergency Room Technician delivers patient care and performs clinical procedures within the scope of their licensure under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and Provider. Day-to-day job functions will include:
  • Assisting with observation of patients, gathering data and identifying patient care needs
  • Responding to emergency situations
  • Assisting with patient transport and transfer
  • Assisting with cleaning, stocking and maintenance of department equipment and supplies
  • Adhering to safety and risk management standards
  • Assisting with clerical and communication tasks to support patient care

Education and Training

  • High school diploma (or
  • GED equivalent) and completion of one of the following:
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program, or
  • Medical Assistant program, or
  • Certified Nursing Assistant program

Licensures/ Certifications

  • Current WA State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA); or
  • Current WA State Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic license; or
  • Current Washington State MA-Certified
  • Current healthcare provider BLS certification

Experience

• Previous health care experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Computer competency.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements
