About the role

The Physician Assistant supports occupational physicians by providing treatments, determining patient dispositions, and correcting workplace medical issues. They are also responsible for counseling employees on health-related issues and contributing to organizational goals.

About the Role

We are seeking a Physician Assistant to join our team supporting the Los Alamos National Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico.

Responsibilities

Assists Laboratory occupational physicians in areas including, but not necessarily limited to carrying out treatments, determining and arranging proper patient dispositions, identifying and correcting workplace medical issues, and counseling and educating employees on health-related issues. Understands specialized area plus working knowledge of other related fields. Resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. Provides resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Contributes to the development of organization's goals and objectives. Determines approach to solutions, plans schedules, and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives.

Requirements

Education & Years of Experience –Master’s Degree and 2+ years of relevant experience. Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work. Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed. Working knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in occupational medicine with 2 to 5 years of recent clinical experience in occupational medicine; or Working knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in a clinically related field (family medicine, emergency/urgent care medicine, internal medicine, or sports medicine) with 2 to 5 years of recent clinical experience in that field. Board certified PA-C through the NCCPA. Licensed to practice medicine by the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners. Current New Mexico pharmacy and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license. Requires limited responsibility for making routine contacts on general matters outside of the immediate organization. About the Site The NNSA's Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), located in Los Alamos, New Mexico, is a design laboratory responsible for the safety and reliability of the nuclear explosives package in nuclear weapons. This lab possesses unique capabilities in neutron scattering, enhanced surveillance, radiography, and plutonium science and engineering (energy.gov). ABOUT GEM GEM Technologies, Inc.
