About the role

Provide professional and safe blood sample collection for patients of all ages. Manage equipment and sample transfers for both inpatient and outpatient services while maintaining professional interactions with hospital staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional, competent, safe, appropriate care in the collection of blood samples from patients, ranging in age from newborn and elderly.
  • Manages all equipment and samples related to blood collection and the transfer of information for inpatient and outpatient services.
  • Maintains a professional, cooperative interaction with all hospital departments, medical staff, and the public in keeping with the mission and philosophy of Manatee Health.
  • Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times.

Qualifications

Requirements

Requires a High School Diploma or GED and a National Phlebotomy Certification recognized by the State of Florida. Candidates must have BLS certification and a minimum of two years of phlebotomy experience.
