More about our team Centra Behavioral Health Hospital is a brand-new 72 bed behavioral health facility opening in 2026.

We offer high-quality, compassionate care for a wide variety of patients in need.

Our teams provide evidence-based, transformational care for a broad range of mental health concerns in a compassionate, comfortable environment.

How you'll contribute An Assessment Specialist who excels in this role: Facilitates response to a request for services, including the initial response, the assessment, the referral process, the designation of the appropriate level of care, admission into services, and appropriate follow-up activity.

Conducts initial evaluation, initiates the assessment, documents patient symptomology, functioning, and needs, and provides information to MD for LOC determination.

Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in assisting patients, physicians, visitors, and coworkers promptly and courteously.

Possess clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA.

Maintains all preadmission and admission paperwork with accuracy and completes all pre-certification with insurance companies.

Will monitor patient for change of condition and respond accordingly up to and including notification of the physician.

RN will follow hospital policy for medication administration.

RN will consistently use empathy, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients.

Assists/performs comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients.

What we're looking for Applicants should have a master's degree in social work or counseling, or graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing or relevant state licensure required.

Additional requirements include: Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients, preferred.

Experience in patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities.

Current unencumbered clinical social work, counseling license, Registered Nurse or per state of practice guidelines.

CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.

Must be at least 21 years of age.

May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.

Requirements

Requires a Master's degree in social work/counseling or a professional nursing degree with a valid state license. Preferred experience includes working in psychiatric facilities with chemical dependency and dual diagnosis patients.
