Raleigh Medical Group is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant (MA) to support our Gastroenterology practice. This role provides clinical support and coordinates patient care in a fast-paced specialty setting under the direction of physicians and advanced practice providers. The Medical Assistant plays a key role in delivering an exceptional patient experience through clinical support, patient education, care coordination, and effective communication with patients and healthcare teams. Key Responsibilities Provides patient care and administers medications and treatments as directed Rooms and prepares patients for examinations and procedures Assists providers with examinations, diagnostic procedures, treatments, and minor procedures Obtains and documents patient health histories, vital signs, and clinical information Collects biological samples and performs basic lab-related tasks Documents patient assessments and results in the electronic health record (EHR) Triages non-emergent patient calls using established protocols Coordinates procedures, referrals, and prior authorizations Processes prescription refill requests following provider direction Reinforces provider instructions and distributes patient education materials Assists with preparation and coordination of GI procedures Ensures compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and organizational policies Collaborates with clinical and operational staff Performs additional duties as assigned Qualifications - Required High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of one year of recent medical office experience utilizing an EHR system Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Qualifications - Preferred Experience in gastroenterology or other specialty clinic settings Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and reaching Ability to assist with repositioning, transferring, and ambulating patients safely Fine motor skills and visual acuity required Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds Why Join Raleigh Medical Group?
