As a Locum General Surgeon, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional surgical care in a dynamic healthcare environment. You will collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and treatment efficacy. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain diverse experience while contributing to our mission of providing excellent medical services.

Responsibilities

Perform surgical procedures in accordance with best practices Evaluate patients pre- and post-operatively Collaborate with medical staff to develop treatment plans Maintain accurate and detailed patient records Provide consultation and support to patients and their families Stay updated with the latest surgical techniques and innovations Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives Adhere to hospital policies and procedures while ensuring compliance

Requirements

MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school Current medical license to practice in the state of operation Completion of a residency program in General Surgery Strong clinical skills and surgical expertise Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities Commitment to providing high-quality patient care

Schedule: 24-hour beeper call shifts, specific dates

Case Types

Hernia repair, cholecystectomy, breast surgery, "lumps and bumps," abscess drainage, endoscopy (EGD and colonoscopy), appendectomy, small bowel, and colon surgery

EMR: Meditech

Must be board-certified
