Description Full-Time and PRN (as needed)
Responsible for providing optimum nursing care within the surgical suite. Work is performed in accordance with accepted professional standards and established procedures and is exercised regularly in emergency situation and basic daily situations
Education: Graduate of accredited professional school of nursing Current NC license as Registered Nurse Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS At least two (2) years of experience in surgical procedures preferred
Preparation for surgical procedure, including: patient preparation and meeting patient/family member. Set up appropriate equipment, instrumentation, surgical bed for procedure to be done Provide intra-procedure care of the patient after reviewing chart and pt. specific requirements in pre-op. Transports pt. to the recovery area and provides a nurse to nurse hand off report Assist with ambulatory care responsibilities as needed Help surgeon with instruments and provide assistance Review chart to assure completeness including review of Pre-op Questionnaire, History, and Physical. Ensure consent is signed, addendum completed as needed. Ask patient to verify that what is scheduled is the same as on the consent form
