The counselor is responsible for developing and implementing individual treatment plans for adults in a substance abuse detox and rehabilitation program. Key duties include conducting patient interviews, assessments, and both individual and group counseling sessions.
Candidates must hold a degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, with experience requirements varying by degree level (up to two years for Associate degree holders). Alternatively, a licensed RN with counseling experience or a Certified Addictions Counselor is acceptable.
Education: Master’s Degree or above from an accredited college with a major in Counseling, Social Work, Chemical Dependency, Psychology or other related field – OR – Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college with a major in Counseling, Social Work, Chemical Dependency, Psychology or other related field and one year of clinical experience – OR – Associates Degree from an accredited college with a major in Counseling, Social Work, Chemical Dependency, Psychology or other related field and two years of clinical experience - OR - Licensed RN with 1 year of counseling experience in a health/human services field – OR – Certified additions counselor EEO Statement All UHS subsidiaries are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
