About the role

The counselor is responsible for developing and implementing individual treatment plans for adults in a substance abuse detox and rehabilitation program. Key duties include conducting patient interviews, assessments, and both individual and group counseling sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Roxbury Treatment Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc., has been a beacon of hope and healing for over 35 years, serving those struggling with behavioral health and substance use issues.
  • Located in Shippensburg, PA., our 112-bed behavioral health facility offers acute psychiatric, detoxification, and rehabilitation services for adults as well as, an adolescent inpatient psychiatric program for youth ages 13-17.
  • We also have two substance use disorder outpatient offices in Carlisle and Chambersburg.
  • Our mission is to provide high-quality behavioral health services in an environment that values service excellence, respect, and ethical standards, integrity, compassion, and teamwork.
  • We are currently hiring a full-time Counselor to work in our Substance Use Disorder Unit.
  • This is a Monday - Friday day position with evening and/or weekend hours as necessary.

  • RESPONSIBILITIES: The Substance Use Disorder Counselor is responsible for developing and carrying out treatment and direct patient care for adults within the substance abuse detox and rehabilitation program for the recovery of chemical dependency, substance abuse or addictions. The work involves interviewing chemically dependent patients, completing assessments and social histories, conducting individual and group counseling sessions, conducting orientation for new admissions, and developing and implementing individual treatment plans. Qualifications

Requirements

Candidates must hold a degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, with experience requirements varying by degree level (up to two years for Associate degree holders). Alternatively, a licensed RN with counseling experience or a Certified Addictions Counselor is acceptable.
