Key Responsibilities: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a diverse patient population with medical diagnoses (e.g., pneumonia, CHF, COPD, diabetes) and post-surgical conditions (e.g., appendectomy, cholecystectomy, orthopedic repairs). Administer medications, fluids, and blood products as ordered, monitoring for adverse reactions. Perform frequent patient assessments, including vital signs, pain levels, intake/output, and mental status. Collaborate with physicians, case managers, physical therapists, and other healthcare team members to coordinate discharge planning and continuity of care. Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, post-discharge instructions, and disease management. Respond to changes in patient condition, initiate appropriate interventions, and communicate concerns to the medical team. Education: Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing (RN) program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree).
Active Louisiana state RN license and current BLS Certification.
Requires a completion of an accredited RN program and an active Louisiana state RN license with BLS certification. Candidates must have at least one year of relevant experience and proficiency in IV therapy and EMR systems.
