About the role

The Physical Therapist evaluates and diagnoses patients to provide personalized rehabilitation interventions and exercise programs. They collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team and manage clinical documentation and billing.

Overview Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center's Rehab Medicine division is seeking a dedicated Outpatient Physical Therapist to join our team.

In this role, you will focus on providing exceptional care to patients in need of rehabilitation services in an outpatient setting.

You will work alongside a team of dynamic and talented therapists, utilizing your skills to help patients recover from a variety of conditions.

We have needs in several areas of specialty practice including, neurology, pelvic health, lymphedema and Orthopedics.

As part of a large academic medical center, you will collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and personalized care for each patient.

Additionally, our clinicians have the unique opportunity to participate in team-based integrative care in a variety of interdisciplinary settings.

Lebanon and the neighboring town of Hanover, home to Dartmouth College, are located in the “Upper Valley” which straddles the pristine Connecticut River, a national heritage river and includes 46 towns in western New Hampshire and eastern Vermont.

This local region boasts easy access to an abundance of recreational opportunities from skiing, hiking, trail running, mountain biking and cycling.

It offers vibrant communities, excellent local schools, and a myriad of cultural opportunities through Dartmouth College, as well as the Lebanon Opera House and Northern Stage in White River Junction.

Amenities associated with urban areas in Boston MA, Burlington, VT and Montreal QC are all within a few hours’ drive.

This is for a per-diem, non-benefited, outpatient physical therapy position with the potential for emphasis on almost any area of specialization within the outpatient rehabilitation department.

Responsibilities

Examines, evaluates, diagnoses, determines prognosis and provides intervention. Reports findings to other health care team members. Provides discharge recommendations, exercise programs, and family teaching. Plans therapy involving physical exercise, massage, heat, water, etc. Participates in and supports in-service education, student programs, volunteer/observation programs, Professional Practice Committee, committees, etc. Provides documentation, billing, and record keeping. Participates in compliance audits. Coordinates the scheduling of patients and meetings. Determines and implements annual plan for professional development. Delegates tasks to support personnel. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree if graduate prior to 2002; minimum of Master's degree if graduating in 2002 or later. Required Licensure/Certifications Licensed PT with NH eligibility BLS

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree (pre-2002) or a Master's degree (2002 or later) in Physical Therapy. Required credentials include a PT license with New Hampshire eligibility and BLS certification.
