Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams while ensuring patient safety and accurate identification. Manage departmental workflow, coordinate inpatient procedures, and provide clinical guidance to students.
Requires graduation from an accredited Ultrasound Technology program and ARDMS registration or board eligibility. BLS certification is strongly preferred at hire and required within three months.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, evening shift 4:00pm-12:00am 10% shift differential On call requirement at Methodist Hospital
Job Requirements Education American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registered or board eligible required. Graduation from an accredited Ultrasound Technology program required. Participation in mandatory inservices and continuing education as mandated by policies & procedures, and as directed by supervisors. Experience One year general and vascular Sonography preferred. License/Certifications Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire. Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography registered or board eligible required. Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) credential is required within one year of employment. Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) credential of the Abdomen (AB) and Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) are preferred. Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Ability to effectively communicate and interact with patients and family members as well as hospital personnel and coworkers required. Ability to effectively organize work in order to perform several tasks at once required. Must be able to follow established Universal Standard and Radiation Safety precautions. Position requires flexibility to accommodate fluctuation in daily schedule, including but not limited to overtime, irregular hours or on-call responsibilities.
