Job Summary

• Promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; supervising assigned team members.
• Nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, hospital, Nursing Department and regulatory standards.
• Duties include floating to the entire Outpatient Services area which includes: Day surgery, Infusions, Endoscopy Lab and GI, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Pre-operative Clinic and hospital needs of conscious sedation for special procedures.
• Use skills in nursing assessment to include peri-operative education and care, recognizing post anesthesia and post-operative complications.
• Facilitates discharge and transportation of patients to outlying nursing units or home.
• This position requires rotation in the on-call schedule for evening, weekends and holidays.
• Shifts, days of work varies and will be determined based on need once filled.

Education and Training

• Minimum of an Associate’s degree from an accredited school of Nursing required; BSN preferred.

Licensures/ Certifications

• Current Washington State RN license; Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR and PALS certification cards on hire.

Experience

• Minimum two years of experience in a hospital or outpatient surgery clinic.

Skills and Abilities

• Excellent communication skills
• Competent in the use of computers
