DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.) Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by provider. Prepare equipment and aid provider during treatment, examination and/or testing of the patient. Observe, record and report patient’s condition and reaction to medication and/or treatment to provider. Act as a liaison between the patient and provider regarding complaints, concerns, etc. Instruct patient and family regarding medication, treatment instructions and patient education. Demonstrate the ability to respond to triage calls using nursing assessment. Order and maintain relevant office supplies for department effectiveness. Assist patient to exam room. Take patient vital signs and assist with procedures during appointments. During appointment, enter vitals, update medications and order labs, as needed. Obtain required insurance preauthorization for procedures and diagnostic testing. Send prescription refills in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by provider. Maintain work list from provider and follow up on labs, tests, reports, etc. Assist with in-office procedures. Perform related work as required.
