Infusion Registered Nurse (Per Diem)

About the Role

This is a per diem position with fluctuating workload based on seasonal demand. The role will rotate across all three Sarasota Arthritis Center locations: Bradenton, Sarasota, and Venice. Our standard weekly schedule is Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

• What you'll do Receives patients, explains procedures, checks vital signs, and administers therapy, monitors reactions, and reports to physicians.
• Prepares, administers, and documents biologic and specialty infusions in accordance with provider orders, protocol, and manufacturer guidelines.
• Recognizes, responds to, and escalates infusion reactions or adverse events in alignment with SAC protocols.
• Maintains proficiency in IV insertion, venipuncture, and vascular access management.
• Receives orders from physicians and schedules appointments for patients.
• Provides care in emergency situations (with outside assistance) if required.
• Communicates with covering physician.
• Unpacks and logs medical supplies, medications and re-stocks areas as needed.
• Prepares for appointments making sure all appropriate labs, prior infusion flowsheets, imaging are completed and in patient chart Appropriately interacts with patients, providers, and other staff Documents all interactions, communications with patients, plan of treatment (POT), and billing codes accurately in patient charts.
• Performs delegated duties consistent with the scope of practice and those assigned by management.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse with state licensure required. At least 3 years of clinical experience with training in infusion therapy BLS/CPR certified Knowledge of medical office systems and procedures, EMR, and state laws Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work Ability to sit, stand, bend and reach for long periods of time, and lift up to 50 pounds periodically Friendly, team player, excellent collaborator, and communicator
