• How you'll contribute
• A Clinical Lab Scientist performs diagnostic testing on patient samples to aid physicians in the diagnosis and/or monitoring of various disease states.
• Performs automated tests using computerized instruments & automated equipment.
• Runs tests and analyzes the results to be reported to the patient, physician or registered nurse.
• Performs Quality Assurance work to ensure accuracy of equipment.
• Performs and determines accuracy of technical lab procedures.
• Maintains records of procedures performed, the patient results and the quality control required for all procedures performed.
• Maintains accurate and complete records of all quality control tests completed.
• Assures that all out-of-control procedures are followed and that there is documentation of remedial actions taken.
• Performs all preventive maintenance of laboratory instrumentation, as assigned.
• Reads and understands all procedure manuals on an annual basis.
• Collects biological specimens.
• Prepares and forwards biological specimens to appropriate reference laboratory according to departmental procedures. What we’re looking for
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Lab Services
• Licenses: ASCP certification or eligibility required
