The role involves performing various patient care activities within Behavioral Health to augment a physician's ability to provide mental health services. Key tasks include collecting data, conducting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and ordering laboratory studies.
Candidates must have a Master's degree in Nursing or be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistants program with a current Georgia license. A minimum of 2 years of experience in Behavioral Health and certifications in ACLS and BCLS are required.
Overview Performs a variety of patient care activities within Behavioral Health in accordance with established standards and practice. Augments a physician's ability to provide mental health services to patients; collects and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations and provides direct patient care services.

Education Master’s degree Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Master’s in Nursing Required or Master’s degree Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistants program with current license for the Georgia State Composite Board. Specialty in Behavioral Health Required Work Experience 2 years of Behavioral Health experience Required Behavioral Health experience strongly Preferred Licenses and Certifications ACNP - Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Licensed for Advanced Practice Nursing (ACNP/FNP) Upon Hire Required or FNP - Family Nurse Practitioner Upon Hire Required or PA - Physician Assistant Licensed Physician Assistant in the State of Georgia.
