Job description

Job Overview

We at Fairview Health Services are looking for a cardiology technician to join our team at our St John's Hospital in Maplewood, MN! The Cardiology Technician is responsible for providing diagnostic testing inpatients and outpatients. This includes 12-Lead ECGs, Holter, Event and BP monitor application. The Cardiology Technician will perform various duties assigned by the supervisor including, but not limited to, retrieval of supplies for/from different units, and retrieval/restocking of linen.

Schedule

This position will be working 0.80 FTE (64 hours every two weeks) 8 hour evening and night shifts.
This role will work a block schedule of
Sunday from 2:30 PM–11:00 PM and Monday–Wednesday from 10:30 PM–7:00 AM.
As a
Cardiology
Technician, you will be responsible for: Performing ECG’s, and application of stress and Holter, Event, and BP monitor. Preparing patients for examinations and explaining procedures to patients. Performing all file maintenance activities related to the tests including filing, copying, faxing, and file pulling. Maintaining all testing equipment. Troubleshooting of equipment issues and conducting preventative maintenance checks. Initiating service calls on equipment not working. In the absence of stress testing and supervise application, the Cardiology Technician will perform various duties assigned by the nursing supervisor (ANS). Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

0-2 years EKG or patient care experience Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Preferred Vocational/Technical Training or Associate Degree Completion of accredited cardiac technician program or equivalent clinical experience 2-4 years of EKG or patient care experience
