The Medical Assistant provides high-quality patient care by preparing patients for evaluations, assisting with clinical procedures, and coordinating patient flow. They also handle administrative tasks including surgery scheduling, authorization procurement, and medical supply inventory management.
Candidates must have a one-year certificate from a college or technical school and at least one year of related experience. Required certifications include BLS within 12 months of hire and CCMA or CMAC certification by December 2025.

Range of Pay: $23.00 to $27.96
Under the direct supervision of the Clinic Manager, the Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our patients. Responsible for preparing patients for provider evaluations by taking vital signs, recording information, and assisting with treatments such as wound care, injections, and minor procedures. To include coordinating patient flow, ensuring efficient use of the facility and provider time, and maintaining treatment rooms. Additionally, the Medical Assistant will assist in scheduling surgeries, obtaining authorizations for diagnostics and Durable Medical Equipment, and ensuring that all required clearances are in place. The Medical Assistant responsibilities will also involve handling basic administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and ensuring timely follow-up on flagged items in the system. Maintaining inventory levels of medical supplies, ensure the cleanliness of treatment rooms and other areas, and participate in training new employees. The Medical Assistant will work closely with the clinical and administrative teams to ensure smooth operations and excellent patient care. Organizational skills, ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment, and commitment to patient confidentiality will be essential in supporting the team and maintaining the highest standards of care. The Medical Assistant is a key contributor in maintaining a safe, efficient, and clean work environment, ensuring that all equipment is used properly, and supplies are adequately stocked. Top of FormBottom of Form Experience The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong foundation in computer skills, including proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook. You should be computer literate and comfortable using various office machines and filing systems. Organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, adjust to changing deadlines, and handle emergency situations or shifting priorities. Attention to detail, conscientiousness, and a strong follow-through are key attributes for success in this role. Excellent telephone communication skills are necessary to maintain clear and professional interactions with patients and staff. Additionally, a solid understanding of mathematical concepts is required, including the ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. You must also be capable of managing cash transactions and reconciling cash drawer balances with computer system reports accurately. The ability to complete tasks in a timely manner while ensuring high-quality results is critical in this role. Minimum 3 years of experience working in a surgical specialty clinic or CCMA/CMAC certification as listed below. Education One-year certificate from college or technical school, and minimum one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Licenses/Certifications CPR/BLS certification preferred. Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), or a Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) from the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) preferred.
