The Registered Nurse is responsible for planning and providing nursing care for patients undergoing endoscopy procedures, including preparation, circulation, and recovery. Additional duties include reprocessing GI scopes and serving as a relief charge nurse or preceptor for new staff and students.
Requires a California RN license, BLS certification, and at least three years of medical-surgical nursing experience in an acute care or outpatient setting. ACLS and PALS certifications must be obtained during orientation, and a bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.

Under the leadership of the department director, assistant director, nursing supervisor, and/or charge nurse, the Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for planning, directing, assessing and providing nursing care according to the policies and procedures of the hospital and department. Important dimensions of this position consist of quality of care, professional commitment, teamwork, interpersonal skills, safety, good public/customer relations and a broad nursing knowledge. The Registered Nurse is an experienced nurse who shall orient new staff, precept students, and assume relief charge nurse duty as oriented and assigned. The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering direct nursing care to all patient populations during hours on duty. The Endoscopy Registered Nurse possesses skills and knowledge to competently provide appropriate nursing care within the Surgical Services areas and Endoscopy Services. Duties include, but will not be limited to: preparing patients for procedures, assisting in endoscopy procedures, circulating in endoscopy procedures, reprocessing GI scopes, and recovering post-procedure patients. Must be able to take call and report to the hospital within 45 minutes. Experience At least three years medical surgical nursing experience in an acute care hospital or multi-specialty outpatient surgery center. Experience in endoscopy preferred. Experience in telemetry preferred. Education Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. Must pass orientation and initial competency assessment prior to independent assignment of patients requiring the applicable skill, and must complete and pass all annual competencies. Licensure/Certifications State of California RN license required. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required. ACLS and PALS certifications must be obtained prior to completion of orientation and independent assignment. Specialty certification required within two years of start date. Position Type: Regular Pay Range (based on years of applicable experience): $72.83 to $97.40 The hours employees work determine when a shift differential is paid.
