Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Job Description

Operates Nuclear Medicine apparatus and auxiliary equipment. Produces diagnostic scans and outputs to film/workstation for physician interpretation. Participates and has responsibility for emergency on call.

Job Responsibility

• Performs thorough screening of patients prior to procedure.
• Prepares patients for examination.
• Explains procedure and sets up equipment to administer mammogram procedure in a timely fashion.
• Enters patient history data and other pertinent information obtained from requisition completed by the Radiologist.
• Performs various Nuclear Medicine exams according to established standards, procedures and procedures of the division.
• Labels images for identification and maintains required records.
• Completes necessary record-keeping.
• Performs related duties as required.

Job Qualification

Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Program, required. Current New York State License as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, required. Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) and/or certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), required.
