About the role

The UR Coordinator manages concurrent and retrospective internal utilization reviews of patient care services. They act as a clinical liaison between managed care companies and the hospital to obtain authorizations and ensure cost-effective patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Friends Hospital Philadelphia, PA Utilization Review Friends Hospital is the nation's oldest private psychiatric hospital, located on a beautiful 100-acre campus in Philadelphia, PA.
  • Friends Hospital offers a continuum of care including level of care assessments; specially designed inpatient units for adolescents, adults, and older adults; and a private residential rehabilitation program.
  • Friends Hospital is easily accessed via public transportation and has free, safe, on-site parking.
  • Visit us online at: https://friendshospital.com/ The Utilization Review Coordinator performs duties and responsibilities required in managing the concurrent and retrospective internal utilization review of patient care services.
  • Serve as clinical liaison between managed care companies and Friends Hospital.
  • Obtain authorization for appropriate mental health services.
  • Facilitate and coordinate the care of patients to promote quality clinical and cost effective patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Education/Training

Bachelor’s Degree in counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, mental health, or an allied discipline in healthcare. Master’s Degree preferred. Licensure as Registered Nurse or Social Worker in the State of Pennsylvania preferred.

Experience

Two years direct psychiatric clinical experience. Two years Utilization Review or Managed Care experience preferred. Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field, with a Master's degree and PA licensure as an RN or Social Worker preferred. Candidates must have two years of direct psychiatric clinical experience.
